Thevicosmetics.com is a New York based retailer specializing in niche cosmetics. Because of the nature of their business, their number one requirement was design:
We used the Drupal Content Management System to develop this site in, as we customize the design much better than with other solutions.
The actual template has two designs, and they differ only very slightly:
- The front page has a big image, without a right-hand column
- The other pages have a smaller content area, with a right-hand column for blocks like specials and the shopping cart
We made use of Drupal's eCommerce module, and most of the products are setup as "Apparel" products. This way we can have the same product in multiple colours. The customer can then choose the product, and then select from a list of colours, before adding it to the cart.
Advantages
- The site is based on a CMS. This allows the customer to edit pages on the site, without going back to the designers
- The eCommerce module makes it easy for the customer to add products to the catalogue
- Orders are processed through Authorize.net. Only once the credit card has been approved, does the order appear in
