South African branch of BP Multinational; use this site as a value-add function for fleet managed vehicles; specifically developed to assist with data collection of Odometer readings etc.
Very simple design site - all functionality sits behind the log in though
This was a start to end custom solution with the following aspects:
- Four different data collection methods:
- EDI with Host system; collection of daily transaction data
- SMS data submission; user will sms odometer reading at time of transaction, this data will be displayed online almost instantly since it is written directly into the back-end database.
- MOBI data submission; user will submit sms odometer reading at time of transaction directly onto the .mobi site using his/her cellphone, again this data will be displayed online almost instantly since it is written directly into the back-end database
- User can submit / edit various bits of info by logging into his/her account online.
- Ajax are used for real time editing of all non restricted fields (a much more productive method since record call and update is restricted although real time, hence less bandwidth required as well as reduced visual delay)
A variety of reports with drop down and record selection criteria, view online or print pdf
